OCA President elect- Bill Hoyt

Born in 1953, Bill Hoyt was raised on his family’s beef ranch in Montana.  After graduating from high school he attended the University of Montana where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in both Political Science and Education.  He then joined the U.S. Air Force and was on active duty for four years.

In 1977 Bill began working as the Operations Manager for the family ranches in Montana.  He expanded the operation to Oregon in 1979. He now ranches in Cottage Grove as well as Montana.

            Bill taught high school history at both Corvallis and Darby High School in Montana. He is presently a scuba diving instructor at Oregon State University. 

Bill has an extensive history of being involved in many organizations.  Aside from being the OCA President elect, he is the current Vice President for the Douglas County Livestock Association, on the CAFO AFO commission, and a member of the Umpqua Watershed Council.  He is a past president of the Oregon Polled Hereford Association, and a past District Vice President for OCA.  Bill’s history demonstrates his support and dedication to the cattle industry.
